Michelle Kim
Kim-Frank Multilingual Writing Fellow
Hello~ I am the 2025-2026 Kim-Frank Multilingual Writing Fellow. I oftentimes have an inner monologue in a mix of imperfect and incoherent English and Korean; I do my best to make sense of my scattered thoughts and ideas through journaling and conversations with friends! I wrote my undergraduate thesis on East Asian women's speculative fiction so feel free to reach out to me to just talk about neoliberalism, speculative fiction, feminism, and the tangential like. This year I am venturing more into creative endeavors, like translating poetry and leading Emulsify, Wesleyan's multilingual publication.Trained in multilingual writing

Abigail Wee
Hi friends, I'm Abby, and I'm a rising sophomore majoring in English and East Asian Studies with a minor in Global Engagement. I'm from the California Bay Area, but I also have roots in Hawai'i, Hong Kong, and Korea! I love everything language and hope to learn as many as possible; I'm currently semi-fluent in ASL and learning Korean. At Wes, I'm very involved in FXT (Wes' hip-hop dance collective) and a proud resident of Lotus House. If I'm not in the dance studio or at home, you can probably catch me studying at Pi with a mango smoothie or an iced Chai. Can't wait to meet you all! :) -
Amber Bretz
Hi, everyone! I am a Junior from New York City on the pre-med track. I also study French and Portuguese, and love traveling and learning new languages. I am more than happy to work with multilingual students, and I am currently able to write in both English and French. Apart from this, I work at the Resource Center as a programming assistant. I love listening to podcasts to sharpen my language skills and learn about new things. I am happy to help all students that want to improve their writing skills or need help with assignments as well as French help! -
Anya Thompson
Hi! I'm Anya and I'm a sophomore from Brooklyn, NY, studying Anthropology and on the Pre-Med track. I love academic writing, especially essay-writing for my humanities classes and writing about social issues. One of my favorite books right now is On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong. Outside of writing, I also love painting (and any type of creative endeavor), watching horror movies, listening to and playing music (mostly indie), and hanging out with friends. I am so excited to be working with the Writers Room this year! -
Bre Jordan
Hi everyone, I'm Bre (any/all)! I'm a junior from Maryland. I'm majoring in English (CW) with other academic interests including In my past life (re: high school), I moonlighted as a freelance book editor, and I'm credited in 7 published books. My favorite genres are sci-fi, psychology, and self-help, but I'd love to work with you on anything from essays and research papers to emails and applications. During my time at Wes, I've co-founded our Linguistics Club, performed in a burlesque show, worked at the Career Center, and played a lot of D&D. You can find me staring at my computer for hours on end in Sci-li or exploring some new corner of campus. Feel free to strike up a conversation, I love meeting new people! -

Christopher Bustamante
Hi! My name is Christopher and I am a junior majoring in American Studies and HISP. I particularly love reading and writing about history and thinking about how we interact with it as a practice today. I also really enjoy helping people brainstorm, so if you feel like you don't know where to start with your writing, book an appointment with me and we can figure it out together! I am especially good at buying books (I have recently been increasing my Spanish catalogue), but I tend to fall behind when it comes to reading them. When I am not at the Writers Room, you can find me making lattes at Espwesso, taking walks around campus, or working on my research (ask me about being a Mellon Mays fellow). Some things I enjoy include horror movies, re-listening to my favorite albums, and yapping it up with my friends. I am from Chicago, Illinois so if you want to hear me talk your ear off about it, just let me know! I look forward to working with you this semester! :) -

Haruka Kumagai
Hi there! I'm Haruka, a senior majoring in English and minoring in East Asian Studies (CEAS). I was born in Kyoto and grew up in Westchester, New Delhi, and Tokyo. For as long as I can remember, writing has been how I piece myself together in changing environments and emotions, which led me to publishing my first book in Japanese during high school. I love long walks, where a thought or a phrase often comes to me like a falling star and sparks a new story. Writing and living in both English and Japanese, I’m in a constant tug-of-war of finding the right way to express thoughts and feelings that yearn to be let out. Writing is often a struggle (for me too!) and can feel lonely, so I’d love to be there with you in it—and to share the clarity and joy that come with the process! -
Isa Cino
Hi hi! My name is Isa (they/she), I'm a senior with a double major in Education Studies & Sociology. I have a range of multidisciplinary interests and always learn to love something new. I’m here to be a soundboard, have a conversation built off your thoughts, and understand your writing process to find, support, and strengthen your voice, however you want that to sound. -
